Smart Project Management (SPM) combines over 20 years of international construction experience to deliver results for your infrastructure and construction projects. SPM will share our knowledge and experience in assisting you to make the right decisions to successfully deliver your project.

 Smart Project Management has grown from small beginnings and we know how important teamwork is for project success. SPM fully integrate on site with you and your team to seamlessly share our experience and knowledge and therefore positively influence your project trajectory. Our costings are built from a practical mindset, reducing unnecessary overheads, and piecing it all together in the same way that the project is being built. Design drawings and methodologies are broken down to the construction components of each stage and specialty. This ensures the cost milestones match the work breakdown and supports transparency and tracking. Similarly, the delivery of the project is managed from a practical process taking in to account the holistic life cycle of the project.

Workplace health & safety (WHS) is fundamental to SPM and organic to our project planning which ensures legislative requirements are factored into the construction schedule. Meeting WHS obligations become part of the daily tasks of the site personnel creating a safer and more productive work site. 

Smart Project Management has built its reputation based on the skills & experience of Sam Summerton. Sam has worked extensively throughout New Zealand, Australia & the Pacific on a variety of high-profile projects. Recent projects include hospitals, secondary schools, self-contained villages and wastewater and potable water facilities in the Pacific Islands, Newman Primary School, Tom Price Early Childhood Facility, Fair Way Apartments and many more. These projects have ranged from $200,000 to $20,000,000 and from simple in design and implementation, through to remote island install. 

SPM will provide support during the entire project lifecycle from gap assessments and definition of client requirements to tendering, delivery and defect management quality assurance Specifically, SPM provide the following services:

  • Comprehensive capability and gap assessments inclusive of all elements of the project;  

  • Clarification and definition of client requirements and scopes of work;

  • Detailed cost estimates for proposed works to facilitate successful budget forecasting;

  • Project and asset lifecycle including maintenance and replacement.
